I loved working on my last hydrangea so much that I decided to tackle the beautiful flower again, only in a different light. This time I'm battling against a beautiful blue sky, and loving every second of this new challenge.
I'm attempting to start this piece with a slightly different technique than I've typically used in the past. This time, instead of a preliminary drawing stage, I tried more of a color blocking technique. Also, as long as I'm switching things up, I'm forcing myself to work with larger flat brushes. I'm doing this in the hopes that things will develop not only quicker, but also more loosely. Funnily enough, I'm finding it difficult to keep things as blurred as I usually like, but I'm sure I'll learn from this struggle as I go.
Here are some progress pictures of my newest piece. Next step: details!!
